Overview

The Flow Tool - Designed by Nick Hill

This tool has taken several years to develop into this final version.
I use this FLOW TOOL to pick out, scrape loose sole, remove flaps off the frog and hoof wall maintenance where there is just minimal amounts of hoof wall.
If there is serious overgrowth, you can run it around the edge of the wall sole junction to improve clarity.
The blade is easily sharpened using a small flat file and or smooth sharpener.
The angle of the blade can be adjusted with a few small taps , this is useful because we all have slightly different wrists and will hold either with a steeper or shallower angle.
The hoofpick end is extremely pointed but can also be easily dulled with a flat file, again this is an individual choice.
The FLOW TOOL can be easily stored in you chap pocket.
It is quick and easy to use

By using the heel of your free hand you can exert more pressure behind the blade while guiding with the hand holding the tool, it is extremely easy to control this way.
Be careful if you are pulling towards yourself or the horse, it’s extremely sharp, I generally don’t do it as I prefer to control the blade.
If it is digging into the sole you may need to adjust the angle so it glides rather than digs.
